One Genshin Impact fan shares a screenshot showing an interesting Transformer-like model that can be found in the game's official files.

Genshin Impact's greatest asset is probably the game's diverse anime-inspired character roster which keeps expanding every couple of weeks. However, new updates also frequently introduce various monsters that patiently await to cross swords with Aether and Lumine.

Genshin Impact enemies can be divided into seven different families, each of which has its own unique backstory. Recently, a new post on the popular Genshin Impact subreddit revealed an interesting picture showing a model file that can be found in the game's official files.

A screenshot shared by Reddit user AmbitionLower7456 shows a file codenamed "shockwave" and features a Transformer-like creature which led many fans to believe that it could be tied with the Automaton enemy type. Automatons are enemies that have a mechanical nature, and while most of them are Ruin Machines, they can also have different origins. Even though fans were hoping that it could be part of an upcoming collab between Genshin Impact and the Transformers franchise, a couple of comments claim that the file actually has been a part of the game since its release back in September 2020.

A big part of the community also thinks that it could be one of the fake entries, which are commonly used by game developers as copyright traps to prove plagiarism. There is also a chance that it's part of a simple inside joke between Genshin Impact's developers. The last Automaton enemy was the famous Ruin Serpent, added back in Genshin Impact Version 2.6. The Ruin Serpent can be found in his Serpent's Cave in the Underground part of the recently added Chasm region.

Compared to some other bosses, Ruin Serpents' damage is much lower, which is heavily compensated with a stacked health pool and unique combat mechanics that take some time to get used to, especially for newer players. Beating this boss domain will grant precious artifact sets that include the fan-favorite Gladiators' Finale, which is one of the most flexible sets in the game as it can be equipped by most characters.

While it's highly unlikely that players ever get to see this Transformer enemy in the game, a couple of fans have stated that they still hope that it could potentially come to life as a special type of monster in the new major region that should arrive in the next couple of updates. According to recent Genshin Impact leaks, Version 3.0 will most likely add the mysterious region named Sumeru.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
