Baramulla: The people in Zandfaran village of Baramulla are up in arms against the power development department (PDD) after their electric transformer got damaged three times in one month resulting in the overall area plunging into dark. The angry villagers said that on 20th of nd December 2020 past year their 100 KV electric transformer was damaged and later it was shifted to PDD workshop at Baramulla where engineers repair it and later it was installed, however only after few days it was again damaged and then shifted to departmental workshop again where engineers repair it and was again installed in the village, they said that on Wednesday it got again damaged resulting the villagers came under dark again. Shakeel Ahmad a local said that they are paying their monthly tariffs in time but the department fails to provide them the electricity. Another local said that they approached the concern department so many times for a new transformer because the 100 KV transformer could not bear the load but they are not exchanging it, due to which the people in the area are under dark from past one month in this cold winter. Meanwhile, the department dispatched the repaired transformer to the area on Thursday evening.
